An Ironhouse Commissioning Manager will work mainly in the field as a direct on-site representative of the owner, client, or major project stakeholder, for the electric utility and renewables markets. This includes Substation, Transmission & Distribution Line, Solar, and Wind projects. The commissioning manager does not perform the actual commission activities, rather they provide oversight and verification that the proper, appropriate, and required commission activities are being performed and that he proper safety and risk mitigation protocols and practices are being followed. Some of the duties may include:
Testing and commissioning (T&C) oversight, and verification
Risk Mitigation planning and reviews
Compliance oversight and assurance
T&C and technical support for greenfield and brownfield substation projects
Outage planning, application, and sequencing support
Energization sequencing and switching plans
Coordination between commissioning and construction teams
Temporary protection configurations and wiring plans
Test result review and reporting
Comprehensive commissioning reporting
Pre- and post-energization audits
Witness testing support
Electrical inspection observation, support, and verifications
Minimum Requirements/Experience
Minimum 4 years of experience
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or A.A.S. in Electrical Technology plus 6 years of field experience.
Is skilled and knowledgeable in testing/troubleshooting a variety of electrical systems including, but not limited to control systems, communications systems, protection schemes, and AC/DC circuits
Familiar with best practices of electrical testing of primary apparatus in accordance with organizations such as NETA, IEEE, etc.
Is able to review test results and data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client and industry standards
Has experience testing & commissioning bus differential, capacitor bank, reactor bank, T-line, transformer, and feeder protection & control schemes
Has experience testing & commissioning relay packages, including the building of relay test macros, testing relays, testing relay logic schemes, and identifying errors in the settings design
Has experience testing & commissioning automation platforms including, but not limited to HMI setups, RTU’s, network switches, etc.
