Description

Would you like to work for a leading Engineering firm and learn a new skill? No Experience needed for this exciting role! The Distribution Design assistant will be responsible for designing distribution structures to ensure NESC compliance. Position will also include working on telecommunication attachment jobs to provide adequate clearance in order to safely attach to structures. This position is design-heavy and will require creative solutions and competent problem-solving skills.
 
 
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Interpret field data to use in engineering calculations and designs
  • Design distribution structures to meet all relevant regulations and standards required by the NESC and servicing utility
  • Examine post construction inspection data of existing electric facilities to evaluate compliance and determine if new construction was built to spec
  • Perform assessments of electric owned utility structures to determine candidacy for Joint Use by Telecommunications parties
  • Position reports to Project Manager
  • This is a full-time entry-level position
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
  • Must have basic understanding of aerial electric distribution equipment
  • Technically proficient using Microsoft Excel
  • Must be comfortable communicating effectively and working in teams
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
Work Environment
  • Company culture includes open door policy and business casual dress code
  • Work is overall individual, but position will be part of a team, including frequent status meetings
  • Frequent use of a computer is necessary
  • Position may include a small amount of field work including GPS surveys
