Description

Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) is looking for Technical Writer to join our team. This is a remote opportunity with about 10% travel.  
      
Overview: The Technical Writer will be responsible for organizing data with a strong emphasis on power delivery systems, substation design standards, and substation equipment applications.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Write and develop content on topics including power delivery systems, substation design standards, and substation equipment applications.
  • Create high-quality technical manuals tailored to customer specifications, utilizing information from our engineering and procurement teams.
  • Document and translate product technical information into easily comprehensible language.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality documentation and contribute to larger projects as needed.
  • Resolve issues using established procedures, consulting supervisors or senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Work with others to resolve issues with technical documentation.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and client for logistics issues.
  • Maintain ownership of technical documentation created.
  • Ensure documents are completed within schedule and budget.
  • Interface with customers and vendors to ensure requirements and expectations are understood.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Purchasing, and Parts Teams to ensure suppliers provide required information.
  • Raise obsolescence issues to engineering management as part of the engineering organization.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years of experience in technical writing
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to Baltimore
