We are seeking a dynamic Instrumentation and Controls Project Manager to join our construction management team in Rahway, New Jersey.
Role Summary
As an Instrumentation and Controls Project Manager, you will spearhead specific construction site activities, manage various trades, and oversee field operations on assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Site Activities: Take charge of activities related to specific trades on designated construction sites.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Direct and coordinate assigned vendors and subcontractors.
- Safety Leadership: Ensure safety objectives are met on all assigned projects.
- Client Interaction: Foster positive relationships with clients on-site.
- Project Planning: Assist in developing and maintaining preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans.
- Schedule Management: Support the Construction Manager in creating and maintaining project schedules, including activity lists, durations, and sequencing.
- Budget Oversight: Develop a thorough understanding of the project budget for assigned trades and identify any deviations.
- Change Control: Assist in preparing change control documentation and related financial records.
- Pre-Bid Activities: Collaborate with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to conduct pre-bid walk-throughs and descope meetings.
- Change Request Management: Evaluate and manage subcontractor and vendor change requests, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and cost estimates.
- Safety Documentation: Complete job safety analysis and other required safety documentation.
- Submittal Management: Work with the Construction Manager and Document Control to ensure all submittals are properly distributed, reviewed, and stored.
- Compliance: Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager in ensuring all project activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Startup and Commissioning: Oversee startup and commissioning activities for assigned trades, if included in the project scope.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in construction site management.
- Safety Qualifications: Relevant site safety qualifications (e.g., NEEBOSH, SMSTS).
- OSHA Certification: OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain and maintain it.
